"Abstraction Through a Moment Once Known", Spatial Blueprint

3'x 2'x 2', Painted Paper, Plastic, Wood, Gesso, Wood Glue, Aluminum Foil, Stained Glass, Origami Paper, Needles, String, Gold Foil

This work references my memories from the AP Art History class that I took in high school. It demonstrates several works of art that I cherished the most, while also referencing specific eras of art. The space is referenced through the hanging birds, as my teacher would make a bird for every student that passed, and through the structure of the rectangles, which demonstrate the tables and chairs in the classroom. The leftmost piece references "The Kiss" by Gustav Klimt and modern art, the middle piece references "Narcissus Garden" by Yayoi Kusama and landscape art, and the rightmost references "Notre Dame de Chartes" and religious art. The hanging birds are meant to represent tranquility, as that is the best way to describe the space, and Eastern art.
